EXCLUSIVE NEW FILM, ‘BENEATH’; Mackenzie Rosman has been pretty busy lately, by being an awesome actress! And I’ll tell you why… Mack has recently spent the last two and a half weeks filming scenes in a lake, inside the Naugatuck State Forest in the Beacon Falls/Oxford area of Connecticut, US, ALL for her brand NEW movie! In which Mack will play (I can now officially announce this), the role of Deb Vorheese. The film is titled ‘Beneath’ and is directed by Larry Fessenden, who the New York Times once described as ‘the modern day Roger Corman’. Writers Tony Daniel and Brian D. Smith penned the project, which will also star Daniel Zovatto in the lead role. The film is set to air in 2013 in the USA, hopefully around October 30th, perfect timing for Halloween, this airing will occur on a television channel called Chiller, which is owned by NBC Universal and is devoted to all things creepy. It may also be wide released into theatres, depending on the success. Larry has already announced (with Fangoria), that it will be screened at festivals. The movie is the first feature-length project that Larry has worked on since his film ‘The Last Winter’, back in 2006. Not only can I tell you that this film is a horror/thriller, but I can also reveal the plotline summary to you right now and show you guys some on-set candid photo’s. The on-set photos are straight from the film set which was recently on-location inside the state forest, you can see the linked thumbnail previews of the photos below, at the bottom of this post. Thank you to Valley Indy for the photo’s. ValleyIndy.Org. Fans can read the synopsis:
“When a group of young friends commemorating their high school graduation take a trip to the remote Black Lake, their celebration turns into a nightmare with the sudden appearance of a bloodthirsty, underwater predator. Stuck in a leaking boat with no oars, the teens face the ultimate tests of friendship and sacrifice during a terror-stricken fight for survival. Margolis plays Mr. Parks, a hardened local authority on the lake’s murky history.”
The movie will also star Mark Margolis as Mr Parks, Bonnie Dennison as Kitty, Griffin Newman as Zeke and newcomer Daniel Zovatto as Johnny. Filming in Oxford, Connecticut started at the beginning of August. Larry Fessenden is known for his films ‘Wendigo‘, ‘Last Winter‘ and ‘Habit‘. Larry has also directed an episode of NCIS. The film Beneath will be released through Larry’s own production company, Glass Eye Pictures. Here is the link to the IMDB profile here. Wow, another horror film! That is very exciting news indeed, especially for all of us Mack fans. It seems that she’s really been getting into the horror film genre since 7th Heaven wrapped up filming a number of years ago. I do hope that this film will eventually be released on DVD as well, because I don’t believe that TV channel you mentioned is available in Canada unless you subscribe to satellite service. Would you be able to find out whether the production company plans to release it on DVD eventually?

I know, it’s awesome, isn’t it!?! Yeah, it sure is exciting. Yes, definitely into the horror theme. Yes, I am almost definitely sure that it will be released onto DVD, who knows, maybe into theatres too. I am sure they’re hoping for a wide release. Also, that Chiller tv network is also online, Mystique, I am sure you could find it, there is a website, here:
I look forward to publishing more news for you guys as the story develops. And the film gets more underway, so far they have been filming for a week and a half, Mack has another week to go before she finishes filming her scenes for the movie.
